Appeals
Appeals may arise in a number of ways. Planning applications may be refused despite negotiation and discussion with the planning authority. Sometimes an application is not determined within the allotted time or it may be approved with unreasonable conditions. Whatever the circumstances, we prepare and submit appeals for clients on the basis of written representations, informal hearings and public inquiries as appropriate. Whatever the size and nature of development concerned, our advice and case are thoroughly researched and prepared. Depending on the situation, we also seek awards of costs for clients.
We also deal with other types of appeal on behalf of clients, such as appeals against Enforcement Notices and Footpath Modification Orders.
As well as acting for applicants, we also represent third parties at appeals, usually (but not always) objectors.
