Negotiations

There are many situations where negotiation with the Local Planning Authority is valuable. These include occasions where the authority seeks changes to a proposal before it will grant planning permission but the changes are not acceptable to the applicant. The same situation may arise over proposed conditions. Skilful negotiation can both achieve a middle position where both parties are content. Negotiations can be just as important when dealing with enforcement matters when both parties are seeking an equitable solution. Schemes for altering listed buildings and properties in conservation areas are often the result of careful and detailed negotiation with the local authority's conservation staff. As project managers we are used to negotiating with contractors, building control officers, equipment suppliers and others who all contribute to development projects. We are able to offer clients the benefits of a great deal of experience in negotiating with planning and highway authorities and others involved in the development process. Negotiations
